Hello and welcome to M.E.G, if you are obtaining or Buying a Puppy! – Think M.E.G. The biggest crisis affecting pet dogs today are poor breeding environments, either due to lack of knowledge on the breeder’s part, or in most cases their health and mental wellbeing is ignored in preference to making a profit. Puppies need to be born and reared in a safe and environmentally enriched home to a happy, relaxed Mum. The breeders should be ethical and responsible, who put animal welfare before profit margins.
While we will always encourage people to adopt/rescue a puppy or older dog, however, the reality is that many people will purchase a puppy. Therefore, the aim of M.E.G. is to inform potential puppy owners to the important development of a baby puppy’s brain and how if this organ is not nurtured and cared for in the first critical weeks of a puppy’s life spent at a breeder then detrimental impact can be carried forward into the puppy’s adult life which will not only affect its quality of life but that of its human family.
Obviously, the owners of ‘puppy farms’ will not invest in a puppy’s health and mental welfare as this costs money. To learn more about this shameful trade please see `Links` page where you will find organisations run by dedicated people against puppy farming.
